This Proverb was written by a person named Agur. He wrote in part, “Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garments? Who has established all the ends of the Earth? What is His name or His Son’s name?”

This Proverb is clearly speaking about God the Father and Jesus Christ. Before Jesus was born a man, He coexisted with God the Father in Heaven. The book of John describes God the Father and Jesus in this way: “in the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word was God.” Prior to being born a man, Jesus was called ‘the Word.’ The Bible says that all things were created by Him and for Him. The Universe, the Earth, and all living creatures were created by Jesus using God’s power.

Incredibly, God humbled himself and became a man in Jesus to enable Salvation for mankind. God did this so that man could become part of God’s family in His Heavenly Kingdom.

The Bible says that Salvation is only through Jesus Christ. There is no other way. To gain salvation a person must believe in Jesus, who is the living Word of God. Evidence of true belief is living one’s life by God’s Word.

We have God’s Word in the form of the Bible. I therefore believe the Bible is essential to a person’s Salvation. It provides spiritual nourishment and guides a person in their walk through life.
