Just One Verse a Day

Daily Scripture is more than a morning prayer or devotion. These Bible passages and insights provide daily spiritual nourishment from the Word of God and a roadmap to salvation.

About the Author

Harding “Brent” Hedgpeth is a professional test pilot with no formal theological training who does not even consider himself to be “religious.” Raised Presbyterian and married to a Catholic, he did not embrace the Bible as God’s Word of Truth until a pivotal moment in 1987 when he was 40 years old. Since then, he has read and studied the Bible daily, and understands why and how the Bible is essential to your personal salvation. He is a Believer, a follower of Jesus Christ, cleverly disguised as a test pilot, and he is ready to help you break the barriers holding you back.

Where to buy The Hope of Salvation

Owning and reading The Hope of Salvation is not required to understand the relevance of these daily scripture devotions, but it certainly does not hurt. In it, you will learn the Biblical definitions of Salvation, Eternal Life, Faith, Hope, and Election (Chosen), before the presentation and defense of the argument that one cannot know for certain their place in God’s Plan, and strategies and examples on how we can live our lives as we progress on the journey toward Salvation. The Hope of Salvation is available for Kindle here.

Old Testament Quotes

We look to the Old Testament to understand God’s original intent, His Law and how devotion contributes to our Salvation. The Old Testament reveals God’s immense power and works and prophesizes of the coming Messiah. It teaches us about patience and faith and looking forward to the future. It is the foundation for the New Testament, in much the same way that prayer should be the foundation of our daily lives.

New Testament Quotes

The New Testament does more than simply reveal Jesus the Messiah, His life and teachings. It highlights the fulfillment of many of the Old Testament prophesies, including more than 300 in the life of Christ alone. Jesus offered Himself as the focus of worship, claiming Himself to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one could come to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Jesus offered forgiveness and eternal life to all who believe in Him, and His teaching and miracles show us the path to Eternal Salvation, if we choose to look.
