This Proverb says, “A man’s pride will bring him low, but a humble spirit will obtain honor.” The Bible says that God hates pride more than anything else. It was pride that led Satan to rebel against God.
God created Satan. Satan was God’s most beautiful and powerful Angel. At one point Satan believed he could overcome God, and he convinced one-third of all of the angels to follow him. However, God defeated Satan and exiled him and his fallen angels to dwell on the Earth.
As human beings, we may be tempted to be proud because of our power and wealth that we may have accumulated. There are many rich people who do not believe in God. They believe that their power and success was the result of their own talent. They are very prideful people. However the truth of the matter is that God created all things. He created us. The wealth that people gain is the result of God enabling and allowing it to happen. God has a hand in everything.
The Bible says that God hates pride above all sins. He will humble those who are prideful. God is forging out population who He will allow to be with Him in Heaven. I don’t believe this population will include prideful people.
Therefore, we should strive to lose our pride and give God the credit for all good things in our lives. We should never think that we are better than others. We should never brag about ourselves. We should rather give glory to God in all things.
