This Proverb says, “A worthless person, a wicked man, is one who walks with a false mouth, who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet, who points with his fingers; who with perversity in his heart, devises evil continuously, who spreads strife. Therefore, his calamity will come suddenly; Instantly he will be broken, and there will be no healing.”
It seems to me that there are basically two kinds of people in the world. There are those who are motivated to do good things. There are those who are motivated to do bad things. Generally speaking those who do good things believe in God and live their lives according to the Word of God. Those who do bad things do not believe in God and do not live by God’s Word. They are rather motivated by their natural and sinful tendencies.
As this Proverb says, the bad or wicked people in this world devise evil continuously. They are devious and cruel and they leave a trail of destruction in their wake. For a while it appears that there are no consequences for their evil behavior, so they do not change.
The Bible says that God will give us freedom to choose how we will live our lives. He will allow us to follow our desires and motives unhindered, whether they be good or bad.
Those who choose the bad path may seemingly have no consequences for a time. However, the Bible says that if they do not turn from evil, at some point they will be destroyed in an instant. They will not be allowed further opportunities to change their ways. They will spend eternity in pain and misery in Hell. Their evil path will lead them to sure destruction.
