This Proverb says, “Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words lest He reproved you, and you be proved a liar.” There have been many efforts over the years to deny and distort the Word of God, the Bible. I believe that Satan is the source of these efforts. Satan’s goal is to turn people away from God. Satan has been most effective using religious distortions of the Bible.
Over the years, religion has tended to move people away from God and exert control over the people. Some religions have even written their own book that takes precedence over the Bible. One professed Christian religion has even distorted the Bible by adding words to alter the meaning.
Unfortunately, many people have been adversely affected by religion because they don’t know the Bible. One must read and know the Bible to avoid being deceived by a controlling religion. A person must know the Truth to be able to identify a lie.
The Bible says that those who alter God’s Word will be judged. However, that will not prevent others from being led astray by religious distortions.
God’s Word is pure Truth. The Bible says, “All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so the man of god may be adequately equipped for every good work.”
I believe the Bible is essential if we want to have any hope of being allowed into Heaven after we die. It provides spiritual nourishment and is a guiding light for us.
