This Proverb says, “The way of a guilty man is crooked, but as for the pure, his conduct is upright.” Who we are is reflected in the way we live. It is reflected in our words and the choices we make. The upright person will live their lives according to the Word of God. They will desire to obey God, and their desire will be displayed in the lives they lead.
On the other hand, those who are crooked or evil will make choices contrary to the Word of God. They will choose to sin. They will not be motivated to obey God. In fact, they will choose not to believe in God so that they are not constrained from their bad thoughts, words, and deeds.
Unfortunately, there are also crooked or evil people who try to pretend they are upright. Some of these people have even become leaders in religion. They have gained positions of authority in religion and have become very effective in leading others astray.
The only defense against these evil people is to know the Word of God. When a person is firmly anchored in God’s Truths, they will not be influenced by religious leaders who are evil. They can also help others who are less well-grounded in the Truth.
