This Proverb says, “When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when a wicked man rules, people groan.” In this country we have seen various leaders or presidents with different morals and integrity. Some we may consider to be righteous. Some are not very righteous at all.

The different presidents’ moral character is revealed by the policies they make and/or support. In my opinion a bad president is one who creates or supports policies that are contrary to the guidance found in God’s Word, the Bible. For example, I would deem a president who supports abortion to be a bad president. Furthermore a president who supports teaching our children deviant behavior at a very young age is also a bad president.

As this Proverb says, many people in this country groan because of bad leadership. They do not trust the government when it is run by a bad president. The people are destabilized.

On the other hand, the righteous people rejoice when the leader is upstanding, moral and righteous. This leader’s decisions are stabilizing for a country, and the people are confident. They are confident in their government when a good president is in charge.

The Bible says that a country’s leader mirrors the people they lead. People with poor morals will have a leader with bad morals. So, if we want good leadership we must become good people ourselves. Then, God will likely provide us with good leaders.
