This Proverb says, “Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, and apply your mind to my knowledge. For it will be pleasant if you keep them within you that they may be ready on your lips. So that your trust may be in the Lord.” This Proverb, written by Solomon, is best understood if one pictures God speaking through Solomon. In this context we realize that God is speaking about His Word, the Bible.
When a person reads the Bible they will acquire knowledge. When one ponders this knowledge, God’s Holy Spirit will guide them in applying it in their lives. They will then walk or live according to God’s guidance for them.
Living according to God’s Word will result in God’s blessings. A person’s life will be filled with many good things. Relationships will grow and endure. Careers will succeed. That person’s life will be filled with joy and happiness.
Trials will still come and go. However, God will help us through those trials. They will produce less anxiety when we trust God and know that He will work out all things for our good.
More importantly, applying God’s knowledge to our lives will keep us on the path that leads to Heaven. Knowing this will help us to persevere and endure during the trials. Our future will be glorious and last forever.
