This Proverb personifies wisdom as being with God in the beginning of creation. Wisdom says, “I was beside Him, as a master workman, and I was daily His delight rejoicing always before Him, rejoicing in the world, His Earth, and having delight in the sons of men.” Wisdom was God’s essential companion for His perfect creation. God possessed wisdom, and He was the embodiment of wisdom.
Wisdom should be our companion if we want a good life. If we have wisdom, God will be guiding us in what we think, say, or do.
However, we cannot have wisdom unless we believe in God and follow His guidance. The Bible says that God will grant us wisdom if we ask for it. We will then gain wisdom through the Word of God, the Bible. As we apply God’s wisdom He will bless our family, our home, and our occupation.
The Bible says, “By wisdom a house is built, through understanding it is established, and through knowledge are its rooms filled with rare and beautiful treasures.” With wisdom we will succeed. Without wisdom we will fail. More importantly, with wisdom we will likely remain on the pathway that leads to Heaven.
