This Proverb says, “Better is a dry morsel and quietness with it than a house full of feasting with strife.” This underscores the fact that money cannot buy happiness. Happiness and joy come from within a person. Joy is not gained by external stimulation. Rather, it is gained through believing in God and Jesus Christ.

When a person believes in Jesus Christ, God gives them His Holy Spirit to dwell within them. They will then be blessed with the fruits of the Holy Spirit, which includes joy. They will also be content with what the Lord has given them.

The Apostle Paul said, “I have learned to be content in whatever circumstance I am in. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

Having such contentment is truly a blessing. Anxiety is replaced with peace in a person’s life. Worry is removed when we trust God to supply our needs.

The Bible says, “Seek first, the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and the rest will be given you as well.” God knows what we need. He will indeed care for His own.
