This Proverb says, “He who gives attention to the Word shall find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.”
The Word of God, the Bible, is vitally important to a blessed life and entry into Heaven. Unless a person reads the Bible they cannot know who Jesus is. They cannot accurately characterize Him. So, they cannot know what it means to believe in Jesus.
The Bible tells us that Jesus is the only way to Salvation. Unless we believe in Him, we cannot be saved. The Bible also tells us that Jesus is the living Word of God. Therefore, our belief in Jesus is validated by doing what the Word of God tells us to do.
The Bible tells us that we must repent or turn away from a sinful life and live rightly before God. We can only do that if we live our lives according to the Bible’s guidance. When we do that, God considers us to be righteous.
However, living according to the Word of God requires us to make a choice to turn away from our natural sinful desires. This is not easy to do. It requires Faith to believe that the Bible is true. We demonstrate that Faith through our obedience to God by His Word.
The Bible says that without Faith it is impossible to please God. We please God when we demonstrate Faith. When we please God, He will bless us abundantly in our life. More importantly, if we please God, He will allow us into Heaven after we die.
