These Proverbs say, “He who troubles his own house will inherit wind, and the foolish will be servant to the wise hearted. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise wins souls. If the righteous will be rewarded on the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner.”
The first Proverb indicates that our behavior toward our families will return to us. If we love and nourish our spouse and children, we will be loved and nourished in return. However if we create friction, dissension, and trouble, we too will experience such trouble.
The second Proverb indicates that living rightly before God will result in good fruit in our lives. We will be blessed, and our family members will be positively influenced by our lives. They will tend to make good choices that will result in blessings for them.
The Bible says that we cannot bear good fruit in our lives unless we are attached to Jesus Christ. The Bible also says that Jesus is the living Word of God. Therefore we must be well anchored in the Word of God, the Bible, to bear good fruit.
The third Proverb indicates that the righteous will be blessed and rewarded during their lives. It also indicates that the wicked and sinners will be recompensed for their bad behavior. They will experience many hardships during their lives. The only remedy for them is to believe in God and turn from their wicked ways. Otherwise, their misery and pain will continue for all eternity.
