In this daily Bible reading Moses tells the people that God would help Israel defeat the seven nations occupying the land God was giving to Israel. God would remove the nations that occupied the land because of their sinful behavior.
God had allowed these people to pursue their sinful lives without consequence for many years. However their sinful behavior had reached a point where God’s judgement would occur.
God had previously destroyed mankind with a flood because of sin. The world was overrun with sin. It had reached such a point that God needed to cleanse the world. He did.
God is patient with all people letting them choose whether they will believe in Him or not. The Bible says that the land would not be given to Israel until the sins of the occupants were complete. Then, God commanded Israel to destroy the people and show no pity. Indeed, there comes a time when sins are irredeemable. God’s wrath will then unfold.
