In these passages is the continuation of Solomon’s fantasied dialogue with his young lover. King Solomon appeared to be obsessed with women. He had 700 wives and 300 concubines.
Solomon was a wise King. However, He was not totally dedicated or obedient to God as was his father, King David. Solomon allowed himself to be corrupted by his foreign wives. He built implements of demonic worship and idols for his wives. Solomon even worshipped the demons with his wives. This angered God.
God told Solomon that God would remove 10 of Israel’s 12 tribes from Solomon’s kingdom. This happened after Solomon’s son Rehoboam became King.
God had blessed Solomon with great wisdom. This wisdom is evidenced in the Old Testament books, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. I believe these books have value in providing good advice for readers and enhancing the Bible. However, I believe the ‘Song of Solomon’ simply portrays Solomon’s physical attraction to a young woman. Therefore, I don’t believe it belongs in the Bible.
