In these passages the writer, Asaph, prays to God. He prays that God will stop punishing Israel for the sins of his forefathers. Jerusalem had been destroyed. Many Israelites had been massacred, and their bodies were not buried. They were eaten by scavengers.

Israel was dispersed by the surrounding nations, and the survivors suffered. Israel perceived that God had left them. Asaph prayed that God would forgive Israel and punish the nations that had destroyed Jerusalem. He prayed that God would forgive Israel’s sin.

The Bible says that one day God will forgive Israel’s sins and restore His favor. God has not forgotten Israel. He has provided a way for Israel to be restored and receive God’s blessings. That Way is Jesus Christ.

Today Israel has been reestablished as a nation. However, most still do not believe in Jesus. Most still reject Jesus and do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. However, there is currently an organization that is effectively illuminating the Truth of Jesus Christ to the Jews. This organization is called “One for Israel.” They are teaching about Jesus from a Jewish perspective and in the Jewish language. As a result, Many Jews are now believing in Jesus.
