In this Psalm David writes of his son Solomon who would become King after David. He asks God to make Solomon’s kingdom great and enduring. David prays that Solomon’s kingdom will be characterized by justice and righteousness and that it will span the entire globe. David also prays that it will last forever.

As King David prays, he is describing the coming Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Jesus humanly descended from David. The Bible says that Jesus will be the last King in the lineage of David.  Jesus’ rule is described as the ‘Millennial Kingdom.’

The ‘Millennial Kingdom’ will be characterized by justice and righteousness. Jesus will rule the world’s population. People will live in peace and prosperity. The Earth will prosper and be fruitful.

The entire world will serve and worship Jesus. It will be a time of great joy. There will be no more sickness or war. It will be a time for which we should joyfully anticipate. Now is the time to prepare ourselves for that time and live according to God’s guidance in his Word, the Bible.
