In this Psalm David observes one of the methods that God uses in dealing with David’s enemies. David says, “This day they dug a pit before me. They themselves have fallen into the midst of it.” Those who plotted and schemed to destroy David would sometimes be caught or revealed in their devious plots. The harm they envisioned that would happen to David would happen to them. David would not be harmed. However, David’s enemies would be.
When we trust in God to protect and guide us, God will indeed do so. We may not know how God protects us. However, we can be confident that He will. God will use many methods to do so.
When we observe positive outcomes to problems we face, we can be sure that God orchestrated these positive outcomes. The Bible says that God wants us to trust and rely on Him. We learn to do this gradually throughout our lifetimes. Eventually this trust will characterize us.
