In this Psalm David speaks about the characteristics of those who do not believe in God. David says, “Transgression speaks to the ungodly within his heart, there is no fear of God before his eyes… The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit.”
The wicked or evil person does not fear God. He or she does not believe God exists. They promote false beliefs, such as evolution. Indeed, they support lies and deceit.
The Bible says that Satan is the ‘father of lies.’ There is no truth in him. The Bible also says that Satan is the spiritual ruler of the Earth. At some point in the distant past, Satan led a rebellion against God. God defeated this rebellion and cast Satan and one third of all the angels to the Earth. Here they reside. They still rebel against God by leading people away from God. Evidence of Satan’s influence is widespread here on Earth. He is the source of evil and wickedness.
Knowing this is essential if one wants to live uprightly before God. Continuing a faithful existence is difficult. However, it is doable with God’s help. God gives us clear instruction in His Word, the Bible. We need to read the Bible to be able to counter Satan’s bad influence on us.
