In this Psalm, David speaks of God’s protection in David’s life. David had great Faith in God. David always trusted God for guidance and help. As a result, David did not fear anybody. David said, “The Lord is my light and my Salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life. Whom shall I dread?”
God had protected David many times. When David was very young, gave David victory over the giant Philistine Goliath. God also protected David from wild beasts that attacked David’s flock when David was a boy tending sheep. As an adult, God helped David to defeat armies. David’s Faith in God had grown over David’s lifetime.
David’s Faith is the Faith that God desires us to have. God wants us to trust in Him always. In the beginning of our Faith journey, this is not easy. However, this Faith will be cultivated over one’s lifetime. As one’s Faith grows, the worries of the world will disappear. Anxiety will diminish and cease.
Faith in God gives one great contentment in life. God is faithful and true and will not let us down. He will always produce what is good for us. He will protect us, and He will guide us.
