In these passages David appears to be discouraged and distressed. He said, “I am lonely and afflicted. The troubles of my heart are enlarged. Bring me out of my distress.” God greatly favored David and blessed him abundantly. However, from time to time, David became distressed and downtrodden. Yet, during those times David still trusted God for help.
The same can be said of believers today. While believers are greatly blessed and live a joyful life, they still experience trouble from time to time. There are times when a believer will become downtrodden and distressed. Life does not feel pleasant during those occasions.
David still trusted in God when he was down. That is the right thing to do. We must always trust God-during good times and bad. God is faithful and will help us.
As we live our lives, our trust in God will grow when we experience God’s guidance and help. God wants us to rely on Him. He will provide situations where the only solution is to trust Him. That is a good place in which to be.
