In this Psalm David prays for God’s blessings for those who believe. David says, “May He grant you your heart’s desire. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.”
When David says, “May He grant you your heart’s desire,” David knows that a believer will have desires that align with God’s will for them. Believers desire things that are wholesome and good. On the other hand, those who are evil desire evil things.
Those who are evil can do evil things because Satan helps them. The Bible says that Satan is the spiritual ruler of the Earth. He has a multitude of fallen angels who follow him and do his will. These evil forces are effective in promoting evil on the Earth. This has been effective in turning people away from believing in God.
We must be aware of these opposing spiritual forces in the world. Otherwise, we will be vulnerable to Satan’s deceptions and influence. The Bible will help us to avoid Satan’s influence.
