This Psalm speaks of the characteristics of a person who will be allowed to ‘abide with the Lord’ or go to Heaven. Among these characteristics are the following: “He who walks with integrity and works righteousness and speaks Truth in his heart.”
Let me focus on what I believe it means to speak Truth in one’s heart. The Bible characterizes Jesus as the Truth. The Bible also characterizes Jesus as the Word of God. Therefore, the Word of God is the Truth.
A person who will be allowed into Heaven is one who has the Word of God in their heart. The Word of God is that person’s guiding light. The Word of God leads that person to walk with integrity. The Word of God leads that person to work righteousness in their life.
I believe that the Bible, which is the Word of God, is therefore essential to gaining entry into Heaven. Unless we live our lives according to the Bible’s guidance, we will likely not be allowed into Heaven after we die.
