In this Psalm the writer speaks about God helping and protecting Israel from Israel’s enemies. The Bible says that God chose Israel out of all peoples in the Earth to be His. Because of this, Israel has been Satan’s target of destruction.
The Bible says that Satan is the spiritual ruler of the Earth. Satan is evil and promotes sin. As a result, the world is steeped in sin. The Bible says that God hates sin and will not coexist with sin. About 3000 years ago God removed the world’s sinful population with a flood.
Since the flood, the world has again become immersed in sin. However, instead of destroying the world again, God provided a way to forgive mankind of sin. That way is Jesus Christ. Jesus was sacrificed for the sins of mankind. His shed blood atoned for the sins of those who would believe in Him.
Jesus’ sacrifice was primarily for Israel, but it benefits all of mankind. Because of this, Satan has determined to destroy Israel. However, God is protecting his chosen people, Israel.
The Bible says that Satan’s attacks on Israel will continue until Jesus returns to the Earth. When Jesus returns, Satan will be prevented from further attacks and attempts to destroy Israel.
