In this Psalm written by King David we see a picture or foreshadowing of Jerusalem during Jesus’ Millennial Kingdom. The Bible says that Jesus’ throne will be in Jerusalem. Jesus will rule the world from Jerusalem. However, He will not be alone in governing the world.

This Psalm says of Jerusalem, “For there, thrones were set for judgment.” The Bible says that Jesus’ 12 Apostles will be set on thrones and judge the 12 tribes of Israel. It also says that all who believed in Jesus during their lives will be resurrected from the dead and be part of Jesus’ government. I believe that these people will be placed in positions of authority throughout the world to govern and administer justice.

Unlike today, Jesus’ government will be characterized by righteousness and justice. Evil will not be tolerated. The world will be stabilized. People will be joyful and comfortable. They will enjoy God’s goodness and be happy with their lives. The world under Jesus’ rule will be a great place to live.
