In this Psalm King David writes, “The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked.” Our lives are a proving ground. The Bible says that the Lord is preparing a people for Himself. God is growing the people that He wants to live with Him for all eternity.

I have heard people ponder and wonder what is the purpose of life. It seems to me to be a time of preparation. The Bible calls it sanctification.  Sanctification is a process of growing. Some people will respond favorably to this growing process. Many will not. The Bible says that those who respond favorably are called righteous. Those who do not respond favorably, those who reject God’s guidance are called wicked.

The Bible says that God will only allow the righteous to live with Him. He will reject the wicked. They will be cast into a place the Bible calls Hell. The righteous believe the Bible. The wicked do not. The wicked do not perceive their destination, but the righteous do.

We must therefore respond favorably to the tests that God gives to us if we want to spend eternity in Heaven.
