In these passages the Psalmist writes of praising the Lord. He also writes about seeking the Lord. The Psalmist says, “Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name; make known His deeds among the peoples. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; speak of His wondrous glory in His Holy Name. Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad. Seek the Lord and His strength. Seek his face continually.”

We are called to praise God for who He is and for what He has accomplished. Additionally, we are to seek the Lord. If we seek the Lord, we will find Him and come to know Him.

The Bible says, “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” God will allow us to find Him through His Word. When we know God, God will give us Eternal Life.

Jesus defined Eternal Life as ‘knowing both God the Father and Jesus Christ.’ Without God in our lives and without Jesus in our lives we cannot have Eternal Life. We will die spiritually when we die physically.

Therefore, we must make God’s Word, the Bible, our daily companion to teach us and to guide us along the pathway of life. In so doing we will have Eternal Life, and we will live forever with God in Heaven.
