This Proverb says, “A wicked man shows a bold face, but as for the upright, he makes his way sure.” There are some people in this world who act in an impulsive and reckless manner. They make hasty and foolish decisions that are motivated by their emotions. They are not thoughtful in their decision-making. So, they make many wrong decisions and suffer the consequences.
On the other hand, there are other people who make thoughtful decisions. They do not act rashly, recklessly or in haste. They consider the likely outcome of their decisions before they act. As a result, they tend to make good decisions that produce good results.
Those who believe in Jesus Christ and live by the Word of God are thoughtful people. They make their decisions according to the Word of God. The outcome of their decisions is generally favorable. More importantly, their decisions, which are made through God’s Word, are blessed by God.
The Bible characterizes those who act irrationally, foolishly, and recklessly as wicked. Conversely, the Bible characterizes those who make their decisions according to the Word of God, the Bible, as being righteous.
The wicked live miserable and painful lives. However, the righteous live joyful and productive lives. It seems clear to me that living rightly before God is the better choice.
