This Proverb says, “Better is a little with righteousness than great income with injustice.” Being wealthy does not necessarily mean that a person will enjoy what they have amassed. The Bible indicates that those who believe in God and live by God’s Word have more fulfillment than those who do not believe.
The Bible says, “How blessed is the man who fears the Lord and walks in His ways. When you shall eat the fruit of your hands you will be happy. It will be well with you. Your wife shall be a fruitful vine. Your children like olive plants around the table. For such shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord.”
It is important what we value in this life. If we value God and our relationship with God, our hearts will be directed toward God. We will value God more than we value our possessions. When we prioritize our relationship with God, God will then enable us to enjoy what we have.
Whereas, those who value their possessions and set their hearts on their possessions will be controlled by their possessions. They will exert much effort toward worrying about and protecting their wealth. They will not enjoy what they have.
The Bible says that we cannot love both money and God. We will love one and despise the other. Therefore, if we have been given much wealth we should hold it very loosely. We should be generous and give freely to those in need. We should focus on the value of living rightly before God. Then, we will have contentment. More importantly, we will be on the pathway that leads to Heaven.
