This Proverb says, “By lovingkindness and truth inequity is atoned for, and by the fear of the Lord one keeps away from evil.” The Bible says that it is by God’s grace or lovingkindness that our sins are forgiven. God does not forgive us because of the good deeds that we may do. Rather, God forgives our sins because of the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ on the cross. It is Jesus’ shed blood that atones for our sins. Jesus is God’s gift to us.
However, we must accept God’s gift by believing in Jesus Christ. It must be sincere and true belief that is evidenced by the lives we lead. This is not a trivial thing. Additionally, it is not easy to do.
The Bible says that Jesus is the living Word of God. Therefore, our belief is evidenced by living our lives according to the Word of God. God has given us His Word in the form of the Bible. The Bible says that we must repent of our sins. That also is not easy to do. It requires strong belief in Jesus Christ. It requires strong Faith that God’s Word, the Bible, is true.
When we have that Faith, we are then able to understand the Bible and know how to live. We will understand that sins have consequences, and we will have a healthy fear of God to avoid those sins.
When we live our lives having true Faith in Jesus Christ, God will bless us in many ways. More importantly, God will allow us to be with Him in Heaven after we die.
