This Proverb says, “Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.” The Bible says that a time of great tribulation is coming to the Earth. It will be a time when God destroys much of the Earth and the people who have given themselves over to sin. However, God will not destroy those who He deems to be righteous, those who have believed and lived their lives according to God’s Word, the Bible.

The Bible indicates that having wealth can be a barrier or a deterrent to living rightly before God. The Bible says, “The love of money is the root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the Faith.” Money itself doesn’t keep people from being righteous. Rather, it is the devotion to one’s wealth that does. We should realize that our real treasure is in Heaven rather than here on the Earth.

Therefore, if we become wealthy and prosperous, we should not let the wealth deter us from living by God’s Word, the Bible. Jesus said of those who are rich, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.” He also said, “The world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the Word and it becomes unfruitful.”

Therefore, we should hold our possessions very loosely, and not be fearful of losing our wealth. Rather, we must cling to our Faith in God. We should make our choices in life according to the Bible’s guidance if we want to God to deliver us from spiritual death. We must live rightly before God if we want to go to Heaven.
