In this daily Bible reading is the account of Mary Magdalene and another Mary, who I believe was Jesus’ human mother, discovering that Jesus’ tomb was empty. This happened early in the morning on the first day of the week, Sunday. Jesus was crucified on Friday, and he rose from the dead on Sunday. An angel was at the tomb and told the women that Jesus had indeed risen from the dead.
The chief priests had stationed guards at the tomb, and they had witnessed the angel rolling away the stone that covered the tomb. The guards were terrified. They reported what they had witnessed to the chief priests. The priests then assembled the religious counsel to determine their course of action. They decided to pay the guards a large sum of money to say that Jesus’ disciples had taken Jesus’ body during the night. This lie was then spread to the people. Unfortunately, the Jewish community still believes this lie.
Lies are devastating for they take people away from the Truth. However, people who are anchored in the Truth, the Word of God, will discern a lie. They will be protected from deception. The Word of God, the Bible, is essential if one wants to be protected from lies and deceptions. If we are deceived, we only have ourselves to blame because the Bible is available to all of us.

You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it! Dierdre Mathew Hartfield
