In this daily Bible reading is the account of Jesus speaking with the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well in Shechem, which is near Mt. Gerazim. The Samaritans believed that Mt. Gerazim was the proper place to worship God. The Jews believed that Jerusalem was the proper place to worship God.
Jesus told her that ‘God desires worshipers who worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.’ Jesus was saying that it is not important where we worship God. It is important how we worship God.
True believers are indwelt with the Holy Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit teaches and guides believers daily. The Holy Spirit also helps believers to understand the Bible and live according to the Bible’s guidance.
When we worship God with the Bible as our guide, we will be worshiping Him in Truth. We will also be worshiping Him in Spirit as the Holy Spirit of God will be teaching and guiding us.
