In this daily Bible reading God speaks to Job and Job’s friends. God’s first words to them were, “Who is it that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?” By these words I believe that God was telling them they don’t have any understanding about God. They do not understand who God is or how God works in the world.
We may think we know God, but the truth is that we really don’t. Our approach to God must be humble, and we must realize how insignificant we really are.
The Bible says, “The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.” When we fear God and believe He exists, I believe that He starts us down a path of understanding. This path hopefully leads us to believe in Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, “No one can come to Me unless the Father draws him.” The Bible says that Jesus is the only way to Salvation, so belief in Jesus is essential. However, our hearts must first be prepared to believe in Jesus. We must repent of our sins.
The Bible says that God also grants us repentance. We cannot repent unless and until God stirs our hearts to do so. There is so much that we don’t know, and we can only learn the Truth if we read the Bible.
The Bible is the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God. The Bible says Jesus is the Truth. The Bible also says that we are given Eternal Life when we know Jesus. I therefore believe the Bible is essential to our Salvation journey.
