In these passages, Job continues his discussion with his friends. Job believed that God had unjustly punished him. His friends believed that Job must be guilty of something that caused his plight.
There are some pearls of wisdom spoken here. For example, Job said, “The righteous shall hold to his way, and he who has clean hands shall grow stronger and stronger.” According to the Bible this is true.
The Bible says, “Those that wait for the Lord will gain new strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not get tired. They will walk and not become weary.” The Bible also says of those who are righteous: “They will still yield fruit in old age. They shall be full of sap and very green.”
I believe there are physical as well as spiritual benefits when one walks rightly before God. Good health and strength in one’s later years are evidence of God’s blessings for being obedient to God’s Word. We must realize that obeying God not only leads us to Heaven but gives us a full and rich life here on Earth. The journey to Heaven is difficult at times. However, the difficulties are minor compared to the benefits.
