In this daily Bible reading Jeremiah speaks of God restoring Israel to the land in the end times. God says through Jeremiah, “I will put My law within them, and on My heart I will write it, and I will be their God and they shall be My people.” When God chose Abraham to be the father of His people Israel, God made a covenant with him. This covenant said that God would bless Israel and their land if Israel would obey God. God defined the essence of the required obedience through the laws given to Moses during the Exodus from Egypt. Israel broke these laws and the covenant with God.
So, God has made a new covenant with Israel. This covenant said that God would bless Israel and all nations if they will believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, who died for their sins. This belief was to be evidenced to by obedience to God’s Word. Jesus is the living Word of God.
The Word of God has been given to us in the form of the Bible. The Bible has not yet been embraced by the world, though some believe it to be true. I believe that when God said that he would put his law in the hearts of Israel He meant that He will give people a hunger for his Word, the Bible. I believe that in God’s new Israel, the Bible will be believed. The Living Word of God, Jesus Christ, will be Israel’s King. Jesus will continue to teach them to understand the Bible.
