In this daily Bible reading is the account of Jacob blessing his sons before he died at the age of 147. Joseph received a double blessing. Jacob blessed Joseph’s sons, Ephraim and Manasseh as if they were Jacob’s sons. Manasseh was Joseph’s firstborn. However, Jacob said that Ephraim’s descendants would be greater than Manasseh’s descendants. Jacob said that Ephraim’s descendants would become a multitude of nations. Manasseh’s descendants would also be great.
There is strong evidence that Ephraim’s descendants became the British Empire, which at its peak was a multitude of nations. The sun never set on the British Empire. There is also strong evidence that Manasseh’s descendants became America, which is now the greatest nation on the earth.
Jacob also blessed his son Judah saying to him, “The scepter will not depart from Judah nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet until Shiloh comes and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.” Jacob also said, “Your father’s sons shall bow down to you.” Jacob’s words were clearly referring to Jesus coming one day to be King. Jacob’s words also indicate that Judah’s royal lineage will be preserved until Jesus returns to take the royal scepter.
As I have previously mentioned, I believe that the royal lineage has been preserved in the British monarchy. I believe that King Charles today holds the scepter.
