In this daily Bible reading Moses speaks to the people about enticements they would face to tempt them to turn away from God. These enticements would come from various sources: From false prophets with satanic powers, from family and friends, and from bad people within Israel. God would be testing His chosen people to see if they were committed to Him.
So, it is today. Satan and his followers, the demons, are actively turning people from God or preventing them from believing. These spiritual beings have supernatural powers which God allows them to use to deceive people. Those who are true believers and anchored solidly in God’s Word, the Bible, will not be easily deceived. They will be able to see the deception. We must therefore cling tenaciously to the Word of God and read the Bible daily. Then, we will be prepared for the tests that will come.
