In this daily Bible reading is the account of the Holy Spirit compelling Paul to return to Jerusalem. Along the way, the disciples were trying to discourage Paul from going. They told Paul that he would be persecuted and held in chains. Paul was aware of the suffering that lay ahead of him. However, he was determined to do what God was guiding him to do.

Paul said, “I am ready not only to be bound, but even to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” That must be our attitude as we progress on our journey in life. If we want to go to Heaven we must remain true to God, no matter what.

The Bible says a time is coming when believers will be will be commanded to reject their Faith in Jesus or be killed. That will be our ultimate test of Faith, and we must not fail this test. The Bible says ‘we must endure to the end to be saved.’  Therefore, we must therefore prepare ourselves for this ultimate test of Faith. We must cling to the Word of God and trust God to help us through this trial.

It will be most helpful if we focus on our lives after death rather than this temporary life here on Earth. The Bible says that our temporary hardships here on Earth cannot compare to the paradise that awaits us in Heaven.
