In this daily Bible reading is the account of Paul gaining many more converts to Jesus Christ in Ephesus. The Bible says, “The Word of the Lord was growing mightily and prevailing.”
The Bible says that the ‘gates of Hell will not prevail over the Church of Jesus Christ.’ This is great news. Evil is strong, but goodness and Truth are stronger.
The effect of Paul’s preaching and strengthening the Church was to the removal of many idols and the burning of many books of sorcery and magic. People were being unshackled and freed from bondage to sin and evil in this world. So, it is today. The Word of God frees people from bondage to sin and anchors them in the Truth.
The Apostle Paul said, “He who is within me is stronger than he who is within the world.” This means that God’s Holy Spirit, who indwells believers, is stronger than Satan and Satan’s demonic followers. Praise God! Therefore, believers can remain in the Truth if they so desire.
