In this daily Bible reading God speaks directly to Job, and Job realizes the error of his ways. Job supposed he knew God and God’s ways, but when he met God and spoke to God, Job realized how insignificant he is before God. He understood that he really didn’t know God and God’s ways. Job said, “I have declared that which I do not understand, things too wonderful for me.” Job also said to God,  ”I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye sees Thee; therefore I retract, and I repent in dust and ashes.”

The Bible says that God’s ways are not our ways and that God’s thoughts are above our thoughts. We cannot use our logic to deduce things about God. For example, God’s plan for Salvation is not logical by the world’s standards. The Bible says that ‘it is foolishness to the Greeks and a stumbling block to the Jews.’ We are called to accept God’s Salvation plan by Faith, not by logic. We cannot  know God with our logic, but the Bible says that we can know Him through Jesus Christ. Jesus, speaking to God, said, “And this is Eternal Life, that they may know Thee and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent.”

The Bible says that Jesus is the Word of God. So, we can become acquainted with Jesus through the Word of God, the Bible. It is the only way to know Him. As we get to know Jesus, He reveals God to us little by little. And we are given Eternal Life through this Biblical knowledge.
