In this daily Bible reading is the account of the King of Assyria marching against Judah and Jerusalem with a mighty army.  Assyria had already conquered Israel and was intent on conquering Judah. King Hezekiah encouraged the people not to be afraid and to have confidence in God, that God would save them.

King Hezekiah and the Prophet Isaiah prayed to God for help. Because Hezekiah had been faithful to God, God sent an Angel who destroyed the entire Assyrian army.  This incident confirmed the importance of putting our Faith in God, even in the face of overwhelming odds. The Bible says that nothing is impossible with God. The Bible also says, “Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding. In all ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”

In this world it is easy to become distracted with problems and challenges that come our way. We focus on our own abilities and solutions for these problems. While it is true that we need to deal with things that come our way, we must not forget God is in control of everything. Nothing happens to us without God causing it or being involved. He has a purpose for each of our lives.

The Bible says that before we were born, all of our days were written for us. It also says that before there is a word on our lips, God knows what we will say. So, trusting in God is our best choice. Also, accepting the outcome is our best attitude. When we place our trust in God, our anxieties and fears just melt away.
