In this daily Bible reading Paul tells Titus that we should “look for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Christ Jesus; who gave Himself for us, that he might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.” The Bible says that prior to Jesus Christ’s atoning death on the cross, all of mankind was ‘spiritually dead’ in sin. As a result, they were separated from God.  According to God’s rules, sin had to be atoned for.

The Bible says that ‘without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness of sin.’ Jesus, who is the Son of God, came into the world as a man to teach and to give Himself as a sacrifice for our sins. Jesus was sinless and was the perfect sacrifice. His blood was shed for us.

The Bible says that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Being redeemed from our sins is conditioned on our belief in Jesus Christ.

Not all people are saved by Jesus’ sacrificial death. Only those who truly believe in Him can be saved. True belief is evidenced by turning away from a sinful life. We must sincerely believe in Jesus and turn our lives over to Him.

The Bible says that Jesus is the Living Word of God. Our Salvation then is the result living according to the Word of God, the Bible. It is not an easy journey. However, if we endure on this path we will be saved and allowed into Heaven.
