In this daily Bible reading the Apostle John saw God on His throne holding a book with seven seals. The book could not be opened unless the seals were removed. However, no one was found worthy to remove the seals. Then one of the elders told John that there was one who was worthy.
This person was called “the lion who was from the tribe of Judah, the root of David who has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.” This person is Jesus who is also called “the Lamb of God.” By His death on the cross Jesus “purchased men for God men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation to become a kingdom of priests for God.” These are the people who believe in Jesus. Their sins are forgiven because Jesus’ shed blood atoned for their sins.
The Bible says that these people will reign with Jesus on the Earth after Jesus returns. They will reside forever with both Jesus and God the Father.
