This Psalm speaks of God’s attributes and His accomplishments. The Psalmist says that God is far above all spiritual beings in the universe. God created the universe and all that is in it. He created each and every one of us. God is therefore worthy of our worship and praise. God is also worthy of our obedience.
The Bible says that God selected Israel from all the Earth’s population to be His people. Israel was and is special to God. God saved Israel from Egyptian bondage and gave them a country of their own. He blessed Israel and prospered them. However, they were not dedicated to God. They departed from God to worship other spiritual beings. They turned to demonic worship, even though they had witnessed God’s marvelous powers.
God, through the Psalmist says, “They tried Me though they had seen My work. These are a people who err in their hearts and they do not know My ways.” Israel should have known God through God’s instructions to Moses and God’s miracles which they witnessed.
We, too, should know God. How can we know God? We can know God through the Word of God, the Bible. The Bible defines God. It is available to all of us. Therefore we, too, are without excuse.
