This Psalm speaks of the characteristics and blessings of those who live rightly before God. It begins with these words: “Praise the Lord. How blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in His commandments.”
When a person truly delights in the Word of God, the Bible, they will live their lives according to the Bible’s guidance. They will reject worldly values and guidelines and live rightly before God. As a result, they will prosper. They will not live in fear. They will care for others and not be selfish. Additionally, they will not be moved by the world’s rejection or criticism.
This Psalm also says that those who are wicked will hate those who are righteous. They will be critical of the generosity of the upright. “The wicked will see it and be vexed. However, the desire of the wicked will perish.” The wicked will melt away, but the righteous will endure.
