This Proverb says, “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser, teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
When a person believes in God they gain wisdom because they realize that God has the ability to affect their lives in both good and bad ways. This person then develops a healthy respect or fear for God and motivation to please God.
A person’s wisdom will grow as they learn more about God and how God wants us to live. This growing wisdom will enable a person to rightly apply what they learn in life. God will guide such a person and enable him or her to understand God’s guidance provided in God’s Word, the Bible.
People who fear God will learn to love God as they experience God’s guidance and blessings in their life. They will learn more and more about God as they make the Bible a part of their daily lives. They will gain more knowledge and understand how to apply that knowledge. Their wisdom will grow, and they will make the right decisions in their life. This will result in a life well lived and abundant joy in Heaven after they die.
