In this Proverb wisdom speaks and says, “Now therefore, O sons, listen to me for blessed are they who keep my ways. Heed instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it. Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my doorposts. For he who finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord. But he who sins against me injures himself; and all who hate me love death.”
Possessing and applying wisdom in one’s life will indeed find favor from the Lord. This is true because a person who applies wisdom lives according to the Word of God. God will favor such people and bless their lives in many ways. Such a person will have good health, a good marriage and family, and prosperity. The Bible says, “How blessed is the man whose delight is in the law of the Lord. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water which yield fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In whatever he does, he prospers.”
The Bible also says, “How blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways. You will be happy and it will be well with you. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house. Your children like olive plants around your table. Thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord.”
Truly, it is good to live by God’s Word and apply God’s wisdom in one’s life. However, rejecting God’s Word and His wisdom will not work out so well. That will lead to poor physical and spiritual health. It will ultimately lead to spiritual death and separation from God for all eternity. Therefore, choose wisdom. Choose life.
