This Proverb says, “He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper. But he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.” Unrepentant sin in one’s life is like a festering wound. It degrades a person spiritually, mentally, and physically. It needs to be cleansed like an infected wound needs to be cleansed.

Many times a person may commit a sin and then try to justify the sin. He or she may reason that what they did was OK in God’s eyes. They may be deceived by what the world says.

The world’s view of life is different than God’s view. For example, the world says that homosexual conduct is OK. The world says that homosexual marriage is OK. However, according to God’s Word, the Bible, it is not OK. It is wrong, and it is a sin.

When a person finally realizes that what they are doing is a sin, they need to repent of the sin. The Bible says that we are to confess our sins to God and beg His forgiveness. We then need to turn from our sin.

The Bible says that God will forgive our sins for which we repent. However we must realize and recognize our sin as sin and sincerely strive to turn away from the sin. In some cases this is difficult to do. It takes determination to do so. However, if we ask God to help us turn from the sin, He will do so.

Once we have removed the sin from our lives, we will feel better,. Things will become better in our lives. God will indeed have compassion and bless us. More importantly, we will more likely stay on the path that leads to Heaven.
