This Proverb says, “For lack of wood the fire goes out.” Our Faith in God is like that. Strong Faith in God is like a fire burning brightly. However, a to sustain this strong Faith over a lifetime we may need to continually add fuel to it like we add fuel to a fire.
How do we refuel our Faith? There’s only one way. We need to feed our Faith with the Word of God, the Bible. The Word of God sustains our Faith. It gives us hope during difficult times and it reignites our dwindling Faith.
The Bible nourishes us just as wood nourishes a fire. The Bible says that God’s Word is our Daily Bread. The Bible is our spiritual food.
The Bible characterizes Jesus Christ as the living Word of God. Therefore, it is Jesus who sustains and grows our Faith. Our belief in Jesus keeps the flames of our Faith alive. When our Faith is fed with God’s Word it is sustained and it grows.
We must sustain this Faith for a lifetime. If we do this we will be rewarded with Eternal Life in Heaven with Jesus Christ.
