This Proverb says, “He who pursues righteousness and loyalty finds life, righteousness, and honor.” The Lord favors those who are righteous. He favors those who live their lives according to the Word of God. God will bless those who do so. They will receive God’s righteousness and favor.
The Bible says that Jesus is the embodiment of righteousness. The Bible also says that believing in Jesus is the only way to God. Genuine belief is validated by the lives we lead. Our belief is validated by living rightly before God. The blessings we receive are then a demonstration of God’s righteousness.
The Apostle Paul indicated that when he spoke of the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Paul said, “For am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to all who believe: To the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it, the righteousness of God is revealed from Faith to Faith.”
It is therefore our demonstration of Faith in Jesus Christ that wins God’s favor. His righteousness toward us is revealed during events in our life that demonstrate God’s protection, support, and favor. Therefore, in our pursuit of righteousness, we receive righteousness and true life.
The Bible is quite clear in its message of how we should live our lives. It is also quite clear in articulating the benefit of living rightly before God. Living rightly will produce many blessings in this life. More importantly, living rightly will gain us entrance into God’s Heaven after we die.
